The LEGO Group and Hasbro are planning to flex their themed entertainment partnership by opening a second LEGO Duplo Peppa Pig Playground next spring.
Merlin Entertainments, a park-builder that works with both companies, will construct this 13,000-square-foot play area as an expansion of the LEGOLAND New York Resort, which is located about an hour north of Manhattan in the village of Goshen. This co-branded park concept has been in operation at LEGOLAND Billund in Denmark since March, but this will be its first location in the US market.
The playground’s main attraction is a Peppa & George live puppet show, taking place in an interactive theater featuring a dynamic digital backdrop that changes appearance throughout the show. Guests will also be able to explore Duplo brick versions of Peppa’s treehouse, Daddy Pig’s red car and Grandpa Pig’s boat, as well as taking pictures with Peppa and George costumed characters throughout the day.
LEGOLAND New York’s divisional director Stephanie Johnson says the new build marks a significant milestone for the resort, greatly enhancing its offerings for younger visitors and developing their affection for the brand. Other attractions featured at the resort include the LEGO City Driving School and Fire Academy, a LEGO Ninjago World ride and the LEGO Pirates water park.
