The Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF) funneled roughly US$6.5 million into the development and production of new series and films during its 2023/2024 financial year.

The investor/distributor spent approximately US$3.6 million on production investment, and US$2.7 million was committed to projects in the financing stage.

Two titles it funded—animated preschool series Eddie’s Lil’ Homies (NITV/Netflix) and the family feature Windcatcher (STAN)—premiered this year, and another five are in production: Kangaroo Beach (season three), Tales from Outer Suburbia, Space Nova (season 2),  Little J & Big Cuz (season four) and family film RUNT (pictured).

Looking ahead to its 2024/2025 financial year, production is set to start on three ACTF-financed projects: Knee High Spies, Turquoise Bay and a yet-to-be-announced feature film.

The company’s sales team generated around US$1.5 million in sales to 35 broadcasters around the world. Some titles that sold particularly well were Crazy Fun Park (Hulu) and Kangaroo Beach season three (Nickelodeon UK).

All told, the ACTF spent US$255,000 on developing 14 projects—a mix of live-action and animated series and several films.
