Boat Rocker hatches a Dino Ranch spinoff

CBC/Radio-Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA will roll out Dino Ranch: Island Explorers in 2026.

Preschool franchise Dino Ranch has a significant brand expansion play in the works, with Boat Rocker and Industrial Brothers working on a new spinoff series called Dino Ranch: Island Explorers.

CBC/Radio-Canada and Warner Bros. Discovery have commissioned this 52 x 11-minute CG-animated offshoot concept that was created by Industrial Brothers co-founder Matt Fernandes. Jam Filled Entertainment will handle the animation work, while Boat Rocker drives global distribution and consumer products.

Island Explorers is slated to premiere in 2026 across Canada (on CBC, CBC Gem, CBC Kids YouTube, ICI TÉLÉ, ICI TOU.TV and Radio-Canada.ca) and in the EMEA region on WBD’s Cartoonito channels.

The Dino Ranch franchise is set in a world where humans and dinos live together in harmony—each episode follows the Cassidy family as they run a sanctuary for their prehistoric pals. As the name suggests, Island Explorers will shift away from the original show’s Wild West-inspired setting as the Cassidys set off to investigate a mysterious island, where they stumble across novelties like underwater dino species and an active volcano.

Dino Ranch has sold into more than 170 countries to date, including the US (Disney Junior/Disney+), the UK (Tiny Pop), France (Gulli) and Germany (Super RTL). The IP has also stocked up on licensing deals with partners such as Rubie’s (costumes), Kennedy Publishing (books), TCG (puzzles) and High Point Design (socks).
