Peacock and Amazon Prime Video have scooped up preschool series Tab Time from LA-based Kids At Play.
The two-season show (20 x 22 minutes) will launch on both the streamers later this fall, marking its first foray beyond the YouTube ecosystem, where it debuted in 2021. Tab Time will still be available on YouTube and the YouTube Kids app, where its eps have generated upwards of 58 million views.
“Our goal has always been to make Tab Time accessible to everyone wherever they are and wherever they get their content, so this is a major step in that direction,” explains Kids At Play founder and CEO Jason Berger, who co-created the series with Tabitha Brown and serves as an exec producer.
Tab Time revolves around Brown, who hosts various live-action and animated segments teaching lessons on a wide variety of topics like good manners, self-love and caring for animals. With more than 80,000 YouTube subscribers, the show earned honors including an Emmy Award (Outstanding Host) and a NAACP Image Award (Outstanding Children’s Program) last year.
Building on this momentum, Kids At Play staged a digital expansion and consumer products push for the brand earlier this year, launching a Tab Time World app and setting up a dedicated online shop.
“We have a tremendous amount of respect for our audience and want to provide them with quality Tab Time touch points. The recent launch of the app is an extension of that—an educational interactive space where kids are encouraged to use their imagination and creative spirits,” Brown notes. “We are just so excited to be growing the Tab Time universe”
Berger also says more content is on the horizon. “We are constantly being asked when there will be more Tab Time—and [it’s] coming. We are just getting started.”
