  • King Banana TV and Beakus have hired kids industry consultants Rachel Bardill and Liz Keynes to move CBeebies series Yakka Dee! (pictured, 140 episodes) beyond the small screen. Bardill is an ex-BBC producer and former SVP at The Insights Family, while Keynes has consulted with Magic Light Pictures and CAKE. Together, they will develop a franchise plan to introduce the educational series to new markets, platforms and audiences. Yakka Dee! teaches preschoolers new words and encourages them to talk.
  • Footwear brand Crocs is slipping into a new deal with BBC Studios to launch a collection of Bluey shoes and charms globally on November 12. The blue heeler’s Crocs will be available in sizes for kids, toddlers and parents.

  • Paris-based distributor Midolala, which specializes in doing business with China, has inked a deal to represent Swedish prodco Miniteve’s catalogue of live-action mini-documentaries for preschoolers. Miniteve has a long history of selling its videos in China—SVOD platform Youku picked up 300 of them in 2019, for example.
