MIP Junior organizer RX Global claims that the event attracted 1,000 delegates from 62 countries this year, which is down by 18% from 2023’s tally of 1,221.
MIPCOM attendance also dropped, but less sharply. More than 10,500 delegates from 110 countries were registered this year, compared to 11,000 attendees in 2023, representing a 4.5% drop.
In terms of exhibitors, there were 347 in and around Cannes’ Palais des Festivals this week, up from 320 last year. And that figure includes 34 national pavilions, 10 of which (including Egypt and Nigeria) were new to the event.
Exhibitors from Spain—this year’s country of honor—came out in force, with more than 172 Spanish companies (50% more than in 2023, according to RX) showcasing their businesses in the Palais.
There were 9% fewer buyers in attendance this year (3,240 versus 3,567 in 2023), with the biggest contingent hailing from the US, followed by the UK, France, Germany and Spain.
Next year’s MIP Junior event will take place in Cannes once again from October 11 to 12, followed by MIPCOM from October 13 to 16.
