- CBC Kids and CBBC have renewed live-action K-pop series Gangnam Project (Pilango Productions/Aircraft Pictures) for a second season that has already wrapped production. Picking up from season one’s cliffhanger ending, the next batch of 10 episodes will see the One Mile Entertainment trainees taking their next step towards becoming K-pop idols. Global distributor Federation Kids & Family sold Gangnam‘s first season (pictured) to broadcasters including France Télévisions, ABC Australia and YLE (Finland).
- Warner Bros. Discovery APAC has acquired season seven of Banijay’s reactivated 2D-animated Totally Spies! adventure series. The new episodes (26 x 22 minutes) will air on all WBD platforms in Southeast Asia and South Korea next year, including Cartoon Network. In June, WBD EMEA and Gulli ordered season eight of the spy-fi series.
- Epic Story Media has brokered a new distribution deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, which will add Rymanco’s 2D-animated preschool series Clawlolo (26 x three minutes) to its Cartoonito YouTube channel.
- ZDF Studios has picked up global distribution rights to Congeo CulturArte’s 2D-animated educational series Pipo, Pepa & Pop. Targeting kids ages five to eight, the show’s cast of characters learn about fundamental economic and finance skills such as percentages, graphs and different forms of currency.
