Adult drama and doc specialist 2P2L is diversifying into kids content, and its first project has already been picked up by France Télévisions, with France TV Distribution on board to manage international sales.
Summer Sparks is a live-action series for eight- to 14-year-olds set in an idyllic camp, where a group of tweens solve mysteries during their ultimate summer vacation.
Created by Benjamin Josse (Safari Comedy Show) and based on a concept by Antoine Piwnik and Josse, this 10 x 26-minute adventure-comedy explores themes like new friendships, self-awareness and growing up.
Parisian prodco 2P2L is producing the series with its subsidiary My Fantasy, and Sophie Garric (The Specials) has been tapped to direct. A premiere date has not been announced yet.
Summer Sparks is backed by France’s CNC (Centre National du Cinéma et de l’Image Animée), with additional support from French funding body PROCIREP and producers org ANGOA.
