New Jersey-based party goods retailer Party City has slashed prices on more than 2,000 items in its inventory ahead of the holiday shopping season.
CEO Barry Litwin says the price cuts are part of an ongoing effort to make its products more affordable so shoppers planning any upcoming celebrations this year can stretch their party budgets further. The selected items are discounted by 20% on average, with the savings spread out across many of the retailer’s most frequently purchased products in-store and online, including tableware, kids birthday supplies, candy and latex balloons.
Roughly 33% of US consumers are expected to reduce their holiday shopping budgets this year against a backdrop of rising inflation costs, according to a report published earlier this month by Bankrate. And 48% are planning to start shopping before the end of October in order to leave plenty of time for finding the best deals online (42%) and in stores (23%).
Party City operates more than 750 storefronts across North America and carries licensed ranges featuring kids brands such as Super Mario Bros., Pokemon, Frozen and PAW Patrol. Earlier this month, the retailer expanded its Canadian footprint in time for Halloween, opening its first two stores in Winnipeg, Manitoba and two new ones in Ontario.
