The Bluey brand is edging into the travelogue genre with a new bite-sized digital series called Bluey’s Brisbane (four x five minutes).

This live-action shorts package for kids & families is produced by BBC Studios and Ludo Studio, in association with Brisbane Economic Development Agency (BEDA) and Tourism and Events Queensland (TEQ). Brisbane is, of course, Bluey’s home town.

Hosted by Australian comedian Mel Buttle, each ep features a visit to a notable Brisbane destination such as South Bank, The Wheel of Brisbane and Mount Coot-tha. There’s also a fun twist to the travel format as Buttle recruits local Bluey fans to help out in fun challenges ranging from a game of charades to recreating poses from Bluey episodes. While there are maps and graphics in the style of the animated show, Bluey and her friends and family don’t make appearances—or at least they don’t in the first episode

Spotlighting New Farm Park, this lead segment rolled out on the Bluey website and social channels yesterday and has already generated 25,000 views on YouTube. The other three episodes will be posted on October 2, October 23 and November 7, with the last one timed to coincide with the opening of Bluey’s World, an immersive experience at Brisbane’s Northshore Pavilion that will feature real-life sets and interactive games in a 4,000-square-meter “heeler home.” Tickets are available on the official web portal for dates up to April 27, 2025.
