- Toonz Media Group and San Francisco’s Greyscale Animation are co-producing a new 2D-animated preschool series (13 x seven minutes) based on a five-minute short film created by Keika Lee called Odd Dog (pictured), which has racked up more than 600,000 views on YouTube and been screened at festivals around the world since launching in 2019. It’s about a cat who identifies as a dog, and a boy who’s always wanted a canine companion.
- PUMA and Mattel have walked into a new deal to launch two Hot Wheels-branded product lines in 2025. Available globally, the limited-edition collections will feature footwear, apparel and accessories based on Mattel’s iconic toy vehicle brand.
- Miraculous Corp has granted German toyco Simba Dickie Group the license to make and distribute Miraculous bath toys that will hit the European market in Q1 2025. This kid-friendly range includes colorful bath bombs, temporary tattoos, bath fizzers and Simba’s Glibbi Slime (a product that turns bath water into slime). This deal announcement comes in the lead-up to a global “Miraculous Day” celebration taking place on September 28.
- Beano Studios’ comic strip Betty and The Yeti will be adapted into a series of graphic novels by British publisher Farshore. Targeting readers ages six and up, at least three books will be written and illustrated by creator Hugh Raine. The first release, Betty and The Yeti: Friends At First Fart, is due out in March 2025, with books two and three expected in August 2025 and spring 2026.
