Haven Licensing to represent The Wiggles worldwide, and Penguin Random House renews its global publishing deal for Bluey with BBC Studios.

  • Iconic preschool music group The Wiggles has named Haven Licensing as its global licensing agent. Haven will now manage all touring and consumer products programs for The Wiggles brand, with an initial focus on the US, the UK and Australia. The company will also work closely with the group’s North American licensing agent United Talent Agency, which was appointed in May.

 

  • Penguin Random House has renewed its Bluey license in a new multi-year deal with BBC Studios. Since taking on the global publishing rights to the IP in 2020, Penguin and its imprints have sold more than 20 million Bluey books worldwide in 22 different languages. This news comes on the heels of BBC Studios also renewing its master toy deal with Moose Toys in May. 

 

  • Major UK retailer WHSmith is expanding its agreement with WHP Global, committing to nearly doubling the number of Toys “R” Us (TRU) shops installed in its brick-and-mortar bookstores. The plan is for WHSmith to open three new TRUs a week leading up to the holiday shopping season, for a totall of 37 additional stores. The retailer has already opened 39 TRU shops across the UK. 

 

  • Lisle Licensing has signed educational rap YouTuber MC Grammar (Jacob Mitchell) as a new client. The UK-based licensing agency will showcase the influencer’s brand to licensees at Brand Licensing Europe next week, aiming to expand the property into the back-to-school, magazines and consumer electronics product categories. MC Grammar’s audience includes 213,000 followers on Instagram and more than 51,000 YouTube subscribers.
