Creative execs Lucy Markovich and Peter Divers (pictured L-R) have launched Elysium Studios, a new full-service animation studio based in Brisbane on Australia’s Gold Coast.

Looking to differentiate itself with speed and financial efficiency, Elysium is offering a wide range of production/post-production services that include script development, 2D and CG animation, motion capture, VFX, co-production consulting, casting, color grading and game development. (The company quietly completed its first project recently—providing virtual production camera tracking for Bronte Pictures’ upcoming Beast of War feature film.)

More projects with Queensland-based producers are in the works, but Elysium is also busy building a slate of proprietary animated and live-action IPs for kids, as well as actively working on global co-productions—including two projects with Ireland’s Tri Moon Films (The Girl and The Ghost).

Markovich brings three decades of experience in media production, marketing and finance to her new role as Elysium’s CEO. She previously served as an EP at Brisbane’s Chop Shop Post, where she oversaw post-production on Ludo Studio’s preschool hit Bluey in addition to projects for Universal Studios, Paramount, Discovery and Disney.

As chief creative officer and head of VFX, Divers will leverage his recent experience as head of innovation at Fika Entertainment, where he worked on Teletubbies Let’s Go!. He’s now tasked with developing Elysium’s proprietary workflows and tools for virtual production, animation, VFX and XR.

Elysium has also recruited Fika co-founder Jordan Beth Vincent as COO and former Sony exec Hugh Frames as CFO.
