- Former Mediatoon Distribution CEO Jérôme Alby (pictured left) has joined TF1’s French distribution arm Newen Connect as SVP of kids & family. He will manage sales for a wide catalogue of TV shows and films for children, including action-adventure series Arthur and the Children of the Round Table (101 x 11 minutes), preschool toon Alice & Lewis (52 x 11 minutes) and tween drama The First Years (143 x 11 minutes). He joins Newen after wrapping up a 21-year career at Mediatoon parentco Média-Participations, where he worked in roles such as MD of global sales and CEO of Kana Home Video and Kana Music.
- Falcon’s Creative Group is bolstering its leadership ranks by hiring former Universal Creative exec Matthew Martin as its first VP of design. In this newly created position, Martin will oversee the design and development of all of Falcon’s projects, leading a team of creative directors working on new attractions and parks. Some of the first initiatives on Martin’s plate will be located in Saudi Arabia’s Qiddiya City resort, including the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park, a dedicated gaming and eSports district, and a water park called Aquarabia.
- UK-based costume manufacturer Rubies Masquerade has hired category veteran Mike McGillion (pictured right) as its new sales director. His remit will include developing the company’s licensing business. McGillion is coming off a three-year stint as VP of sales at Disguise, where he headed up the EMEA market.
