In an effort to help children build an understanding of community and drive social change—both virtually and in real life—Nickelodeon has partnered with anti-poverty non-profit organization Comic Relief US to power up its second annual Kids Relief campaign.

Kids Relief is a year-round program that encourages young people to make positive change in their communities. It raises funds for initiatives that foster empowerment and leadership, provide access to education, and create economic growth opportunities that help kids and families break the cycle of poverty for themselves and future generations.

For the second year in a row, social gaming platform Roblox will take center stage in the campaign, offering a number of brand-new experiences.

A Kids Relief Simulator (pictured) has kicked things off this year, starring Tony Hale (Arrested Development), David Tennant (Dr. Who) and Maitreyi Ramakrishnan (Turning Red) as wizards who send players on quests to perform good deeds, earn Karma and improve the world around them. The new game builds on the success of last year’s Solarpunk Simulator game featuring kid-favorite influencers and celebrities like Jack Black.

Following on the simulator’s heels is a scavenger hunt played through experiences that have been built into Nickelodeon games SpongeBob Simulator and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Battle Tycoon, as well as Highland Park RP and HyperKatz from Roblox creator WondieRB. Running in Roblox from August 30 to September 13, players will learn about the power of doing good while collecting magical surprises along the way.

Then on the September 13/14 weekend, musical acts including Imagine Dragons, Conan Gray, Poppy, d4vd and Alexander Stewart will star in an interactive virtual Roblox concert.

Kids Relief is also leveraging Nick’s social change initiative Our World to roll out new programs including a project idea generator and an instructional guide for projects to beautify neighborhoods, champion street safety, recycle clothing and support kids fighting cancer.

And finally, popular gamers, streamers and influencers from YouTube, Twitch, Instagram and TikTok—including Roblox creators Leah Ashe and MeganPlays—will promote and fundraise throughout the campaign.
