  • Warner Bros. Discovery has renewed Madrid-based Ánima Kitchent’s CG-animated preschool series Cuquin for a second 20 x five-minute season that will launch in LatAm on Max and Cartoonito in mid-2025. Based on the ’60s Spanish kids series The Telerin Family, Cuquin originally debuted in 2023 and revolves around a trio of toddlers who play together in a nursery.
  • Moonbug Entertainment is teaming up with fitness brand Reebok for a new Blippi-branded range of footwear for toddlers and preschoolers. This four-SKU collection will feature graphics, logos and color schemes based on Blippi and his bestie Meekah (pictured). Each pair of shoes is priced somewhere in the US$55 to US$65 range and will launch next month (September 3) online and at select retailers globally. This licensing partnership is just the latest in a deal bonanza marking the Blippi brand’s 10th anniversary this year.
  • Netflix is gearing up to roll out a new game app called SpongeBob: Bubble Pop from LA-based developer Tic Toc Games and Nickelodeon/Paramount. This puzzle-based title (which can be played with a Netflix subscription of any tier) is slated to launch on September 17, and pre-registration is open now. It’s the streamer’s second game based on Nickelodeon’s nautical franchise, following SpongeBob: Get Cooking in 2022. The brand has proven to be an audience magnet for Netflix, which released spinoff movie Saving Bikini Bottom earlier this month. It generated 12.8 million views in its first weekend and reigned as the platform’s most-watched English film for two consecutive weeks.
  • Singer/songwriter John Legend is reaching into an iconic toy brand’s music catalogue to add some favorite preschool tunes to his upcoming children’s album My Favorite Dream. The tracklist will include three covers by the 12-time Grammy winner of songs that have been featured in Fisher-Price toys. Republic Records: Kids & Family is rolling out the album on August 30. Legend has previously recorded songs for kids movies like Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (2017) and WB Pictures’ Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021).
