LA-based Gamefam is bringing popular pro gamer and YouTuber Tyler “Ninja” Blevins into Fortnite by way of a branded map in its Infinite Zonewars game.
Ninja has 19 million Twitch followers and 24 million YouTube subscribers, who tune in regularly to watch his gameplay livestreams. He began streaming as a member of several Halo 3 eSports teams, but really became popular when he started playing Fortnite Battle Royale in 2017.
Ninja’s Infinite Zonewars map offers collectible items, outfits and skins that kids can use to kit out their avatars. He will also stream himself playing in the map for tomorrow’s rollout, and has shared a voiceover and some of his favorite locations from Fortnite history.
Gamefam’s Infinite Zonewars has racked up 1.2 million players since rolling out in November 2023, and the developer has already brought other brands including Samsung and Puma into the experience with similar custom maps.
Fortnite itself may be gearing up for a growth spurt soon in the aftermath of Disney purchasing a US$1.5-billion equity stake in its owner and operator Epic Games this past February.
