  • Canadian public broadcaster CBC Kids has picked up Playing with Stu (pictured), the first spinoff series of the music-centric 2D-animated program Jeremy and Jazzy, produced by Toronto-based Vérité Films. The 40 x one-minute discovery- and play-based toon features a popular Jeremy and Jazzy mouse character named Stu and his friends. The spinoff will premiere September 2 on the CBC Gem streaming platform and September 9 on CBC Kids. The first 10 episodes of the new second season of Jeremy and Jazzy will also launch on CBC Gem on September 2, and then debut on CBC Kids on September 9.

  • Ford Motor Company is gearing up to launch its first children’s books in a new partnership with Penguin Young Readers. The book line from Penguin’s Licenses imprint will kick off on August 27, releasing its first picture book, The Good Night Truck, by writer Charlie Moon and illustrator Jen Taylor. A trio of board books (Ford: Road Trip!, Ford: Colors, and Ford: Numbers) will follow in November, and more titles are planned to launch next year, including a sticker activity book and titles aimed at a slightly older audience. Three iconic Ford brands—F-150 (truck), Bronco (SUV) and Mustang (car)—will feature prominently in the publishing program.

  • The LEGO Group has secured a multi-year global partnership with Nike spotlighting how creative play and sport can help shape kids’ lives. Products will begin rolling out in 2025 and may include co-branded items, content and experiences that merge LEGO’s expertise in creative play with Nike’s “Just Do It” mantra, according to a release. LEGO has also extended its longtime partnership with Nintendo, and is set to launch three new sets based on the popular gaming franchise Animal Crossing in January. And next month, the first-ever LEGO set based on The Legend of Zelda will hit the market.
