- Boat Rocker has secured broadcast sales for three kids series in its catalogue. NRK (Norway), RTE (Ireland) and TVO (Canada) have picked up Maramedia’s mixed-media preschool series Olga da Polga (pictured). RTE, Corus (Canada), ABC and Stan (Australia) have acquired season nine of Boat Rocker’s live-action series The Next Step. And RTE, TVB (Hong Kong), Turner (Italy) and MBC (MENA) said yes to season three of Ludo Studio/Media World Pictures’ 2D-animated series The Strange Chores.
- India’s Toonz Media Group and Giffi in the UK have teamed up to co-produce and co-distribute a new CG-animated series called Adventures of Rusty, based on Indian author Ruskin Bond’s stories. This 52 x seven-minute concept will center around an orphaned Anglo-Indian boy who runs away from home to live with his friends. Bond’s books have sold more than 20 million copies in 50-plus languages, according to Toonz. The series will launch on YouTube and other digital platforms first, and the companies are jointly managing media distribution and L&M rights.
- Indie music distributor DistroKid has partnered with Roblox to expand the reach of its artists’ tunes on the popular gaming platform. The collaboration is limited for now: Some of DistroKid’s artists have been invited to opt in and share their catalogues with Roblox developers to use—for free—in their games. There’s currently no monetization for the artists, but as of Q2 2024, Roblox claims to have 79.5 million daily active users worldwide.
- Bulldog Licensing has inked a Totally Spies! apparel and accessory deal in the UK with Skinnydip London. The partnership covers phone cases, clothing, accessories, travel and homeware products. The first products to come out of the agreement—a collection of phone cases featuring the three teenage superspies—are available now on Skinnydip’s website.
