BBC Children’s and Education has commissioned a new puppet series called Dodge’s Pup School (pictured, 13 x 11 minutes) that will launch on CBeebies and iPlayer in September.

Produced by the UK’s Brilliant Trees Media and Nest Productions, this comedy-driven show features a bunch of different dogs, and is designed to mirror young kids’ everyday lives learning new things and building problem-solving skills at preschool.

The Brit pubcaster has also greenlit a fifth season of London-based Darall Macqueen’s puppet series Waffle the Wonder Dog. And a fourth season of docuseries Time for School from Sixth Sense Media is launching August 12 on CBeebies and iPlayer.

This new batch of programming is intended to help the UK’s youngest viewers understand the world, and also to support kids and families through the stressful experience of going back to school, according to Kate Morton, senior head of commissioning for kids ages zero to six.
