- Ketchup Entertainment is gearing up to bring The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie (pictured) into US theaters after acquiring North American distribution rights from GFM Animation. A release date hasn’t been set yet for this Warner Bros. Animation pic featuring Daffy Duck and Porky Pig on a mission to stop an alien invasion.
- Sunlight Entertainment and pocket.watch have set up theatrical releases for Ryan’s World the Movie: Titan Universe Adventure in Canada (working with indie distributor Sherry Media Group) and the UK (in cinema chain Vue). The film will premiere in both markets on August 16, coinciding with its US release date. It stars kidfluencer Ryan Kaji, who leaps into a magic comic book to find his twin sisters.
- Yu-Gi-Oh! brand manager Konami Cross Media NY has inked new licensing deals with Kawada for nanoblock kits (Japan), First General Kids Trading for back-to-school products (MENA) and Hypnotic Hats for socks (US). These new agreements come on the heels of a buzzy summer QSR promotion with McDonald’s and Sanrio.
