Spin Master’s construction-themed preschool series Rubble & Crew is getting a helping paw from the series it’s based on, in a bid to generate buzz for its upcoming second and third season episodes on Nickelodeon and its first-season premiere on Paramount+ on September 4.
On August 5, Nickelodeon will kick off a month of new second- and third-season episodes from Spin’s 26 x half-hour renewal of Rubble & Crew with a special PAW Patrol crossover episode entitled “The Crew and Skye Build a Mountain Lodge.”
New episodes will air Monday through Thursday at 11 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon and 5 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nick Jr. For the first half of 2024, PAW Patrol and Rubble & Crew were the first and second most-watched series, respectively, on all cable channels among kids ages two to five, according to Nielsen ratings.
Additionally, Spin Master is tapping into the growing kids sports content trend with a new Rubble & Crew episode called “The Crew Builds a Ballpark.” Premiering August 26, the ep will feature Aaron Judge, former American League MVP and captain of the New York Yankees, appearing as himself. The Major League Baseball nod follows several successful Nick telecasts with the National Football League, including the first-ever Super Bowl simulcast for kids, which attracted 1.2 million viewers on February 11, 2024.
Spin Master’s PAW Patrol/Rubble & Crew special furthers the growth of popular brand crossovers across the industry. Recent additions include Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mashing up with manga IP Naruto in a new comic book series from IDW Publishing, and The Looney Tunes entering Scopely’s gaming IP Stumble Guys.
