- Banijay Kids & Family has appointed a trio of new licensing agents to rep Mr. Bean. Managing the brand in select markets are IMG for Japan, South Korea and South East Asia; License Connection in the Benelux; and Spacetoon Licensing in the Middle East (the agency has also picked up live show rights in its region). Mr Bean: The Animated Series is currently gearing up for a fourth season, which is slated to premiere next year on ITVX Kids (UK and Ireland) and on WBD’s networks and streamers across EMEA and Southeast Asia/South Asia.
- The BBC has greenlit Tiddler, a half-hour holiday special from London’s Magic Light Pictures. Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s 2007 book for upper preschoolers, Tiddler tags along with a small fish who tells tall tales to explain why he’s constantly late for school—that is, until one day when he ends up lost and must find his way home by relying on his storytelling prowess. The special will launch on BBC iPlayer and BBC One this Christmas.
- Lebanese kids YouTube channel Lila TV (1.3 million subscribers) is partnering with MENA publisher Hachette Antoine for a range of Arabic educational activity books for preschoolers featuring stickers, puzzles and coloring pages with characters from Lila TV. Comprising four titles in total, the Ashkal Alwan activity books are available for pre-order and set to launch across Lebanon later this month.
