- WildBrain has signed a bunch of new TV deals for its Inspector Gadget IP. The first season of the 2015 CG-animated revival (26 x 30 minutes) has been picked up by buyers including TG4 (Ireland) Kanopy Kids (US, Canada and Singapore), VSTV (Vietnam) and Kartoon Channel (US, Sub-Saharan Africa, Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Vietnam). China’s CCTV 6 also recently premiered the same season on July 20. And MeTV Toons in the US has picked up seasons one and two of classic Inspector Gadget (86 x 30 minutes), plus half-hour special Inspector Gadget Saves Christmas.
- A new Bluey album published by London-based Demon Music Group is slated to roll out on October 25. Bluey: Rug Island (pictured) marks the third release based on the eponymous preschool series, with a streaming launch plus physical products including CDs, orange vinyls and a limited 7,000 copies of a vinyl picture disc planned. In 2021, the first season’s Bluey: The Album soundtrack became the first-ever children’s album to top the Australian music charts.
- Creative platform Canva has done a unique deal with Disney to offer branded templates and graphics to its subscribers from August 9 to September 30. Canva—which specializes in designing and editing tools—has roughly 190 global million users. This Disney license is part of the company’s participation in the D23 fan event taking place from August 9 to 11. In other Mouse House news, Toys ‘R’ Us Asia will be the sole retailer for the Disney Doorables toy range in select Asian markets.
- Pizza parlor Chuck E. Cheese is offering a new triple-loaded pepperoni pizza until September 2 across the US and Canada as part of a new deal with Sunlight Entertainment and pocket.watch. It’s an effort to build buzz for Ryan’s World the Movie: Titan Universe Adventure, which hits theaters on August 16. This limited-time menu item is inspired by the “Ryan’s Triple Decker” pizza that’s featured in the film. Chuck E. Cheese fun centers will also stream select content and behind-the-scenes footage.
