LEGO moves its Fortnite game into building sets for the first time

Bridging the gap between digital and physical play, four SKUs based on the brickmaker's online world will hit retail in October.

The LEGO Group is bringing its survival crafting game LEGO Fortnite into the real world, with four new brick-building sets based on its online vehicles and avatars rolling out in LEGO stores and online on October 1. Aimed at kids ages nine and up, these kits will mark the first time LEGO has released physical products based on its online world.

LEGO Fortnite is all about exploring worlds, building bases and collecting resources. It launched as a free-to-play PC/console game in December 2023 and is the first title to come out of a long-term partnership between Fortnite maker Epic Games and the LEGO Group. According to tracking website Fortnite.GG, the online experience hit 2.4 million concurrent players shortly after its launch.

Rolling out these sets is the next step on a path towards achieving the partners’ shared goal of combining physical and digital play in new ways and engaging LEGO Fortnite‘s all-ages fanbase.
