Barbie and Percy Jackson and the Olympians were in the spotlight at Saturday’s Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, respectively winning Favorite Kids TV Show and Favorite Movie.
Warner Bros. Pictures’ blockbuster film Barbie also helped Margot Robbie win Favorite Movie Actress, and “Barbie World” by Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice was voted as this year’s Favorite Music Collaboration.
Meanwhile, Walker Scobell, who plays Percy in Disney’s live-action series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, went home with the Favorite Male TV Star (Kids) trophy.
Nickelodeon always leverages some major starpower to draw eyeballs to the Kids’ Choice Awards, and this year was no exception. Celebrating SpongeBob SquarePants’ 25th anniversary, the ceremony featured appearances by Nick’s most famous Bikini Bottom dweller (who was the first animated host in KCA history), Dora and singer Jelly Roll. And it also screened an exclusive clip from the upcoming CG-animated film Transformers One.
Other big winners that were celebrated include Young Sheldon (Favorite Family TV Show), SpongeBob (Favorite Cartoon) and Roblox (Favorite Video Game). And voters gave Taylor Swift three awards—Favorite Female Artist, Favorite Global Music Star and Favorite Ticket of the Year for The Eras Tour.
Nickelodeon is airing the KCAs again tonight on TeenNick, and it’s already available on Paramount+. A full list of winners is posted on Nickelodeon’s website.
