In anticipation of its return to the Anaheim Convention Center next month, Disney has revealed a packed lineup of more than 230 programs for this year’s D23 fandom event.
Over three days (August 9-11), Disney will run more than 55 panels ranging from celebrating 30 years of the Toy Story franchise, to exploring the design of Inside Out 2 with production designer Jason Deamer, to sneak-peeks of new shows coming down the pipeline from Marvel Animation.
Stepping into the 170,000-square-meter space, guests will be able to navigate several interactive experiences built specifically for the show, including a 360-degree hexadrome from National Geographic, artist demonstrations at the Pixar and Disney animation pavilion, and an immersive walk-through exhibit inspired by the bioluminescent forest from Avatar.
To complete the package, Disney will operate a massive dealer’s hall for consumers featuring new and exclusive products from partners including Spin Master, LEGO, NECA, Ravensburger, Loungefly and Hallmark.
This marks the eighth fan expo that Disney has run since holding its first D23 convention in Anaheim in 2009. The last D23 in 2022 attracted an estimated 140,000 attendees, and tickets for this year’s event have already sold out.
