- Britain’s Passion Pictures has inked a deal with Hachette Children’s Group to adapt several kids books by Rachel Bright into a collection of animated half-hour TV specials. The English author is best known for her picture books illustrated by Jim Field, including The Lion Inside (pictured), The Whale Who Wanted More, The Koala Who Could and The Pandas Who Promised. To date, Hachette has sold more than two million copies of Bright’s titles worldwide, translated into 40-plus languages.
- Building on its existing partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery’s consumer products division, MGA will manufacture Miniverse collectibles based on the studio’s iconic film properties, kicking things off this month with Harry Potter and The Lord of the Rings ranges hitting Target, Amazon, Walmart and Smyths. Each Miniverse surprise egg has 15 pieces to collect—from potions, to legendary swords—and features three limited-edition items.
- Miami-based toyco Wyncor has signed a new distribution deal with European retailer Carrefour for its patented Miraball collectibles. The superstore chain will start carrying the line in more than 2,800 locations this September, with PAW Patrol, Peppa Pig, Miraculous, SpongeBob SquarePants and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles featured in the launch assortment. Wyncor has sold more than two million Miraball units worldwide since January.
