Following his recent departure from Paramount International, Adam Bailey is back in action at BBC Studios Kids & Family as a development producer for animation.
Bailey shared the news in a LinkedIn post on Friday (July 5), announcing that he had just wrapped up his first week in the new role. Based in Salford, he is responsible for working with a broad range of creators/talent to develop new animation content for the kids & family division.
Bailey has nearly two decades of experience with making animation. In his most recent position as Paramount International’s director of animation production and development (kids and family), he spent two years sourcing and managing long-form and short-form content for Nick/Nick Jr. International, with production credits on shows including LEGO City Adventures and Best & Bester. Bailey’s tenure came to an end this May when he was laid off along with Chris Rose and Jordan Elson.
Prior to joining Paramount in 2021, Bailey spent nearly eight years as head of animation development at Cardiff-based Cloth Cat Animation (The Rubbish World of Dave Spud). His resumé also boasts numerous freelance gigs over the years and UK-based stints as an animation director at Slurpy Studios (2009 to 2013) and an art director/head of layout for Dinamo Productions (2010 to 2012).
BBC Studios Kids & Family has also been cutting jobs lately and expects to eventually trim up to 13 positions in total. Departing later this month, head of development (indies) and EP Elizabeth Randall is the latest team member to be affected by these layoffs
