July 4, 2024

WildBrain is set to launch 27 new FAST channels for its brands this year on Samsung TV Plus, in multiple territories including the UK and Latin America. With the new additions, WildBrain will have 56 channels on Samsung TV Plus.

The new channels include Strawberry Shortcake (UK, Brazil, Mexico), Sonic (UK and Italy) and Teletubbies (Brazil and Mexico). This expansion builds on WildBrain’s existing partnership with Samsung TV Plus, which saw the companies previously establish FAST channels in Australia and New Zealand for Teletubbies, Strawberry Shortcake, Caillou and Sonic (a Super Mario channel is set to launch on July 3).

Also announced as part of the deal, Samsung TV Plus is now the exclusive home for WildBrain’s Teletubbies and Strawberry Shortcake FAST channels in LatAm.

Launched in 2015, Samsung’s free-ad-supported TV service today operates a total of 2,000 channels in 24 countries. In 2023, consumers used the streamer on 500 million devices, and it accumulated three billion hours of viewing time worldwide in 2022, according to Samsung.

WildBrain currently operates more than 100 FAST channels for 20 brands, which together racked up 7.5 billion minutes watched in 2023, compared to 502 million minutes in 2019, according to a release. The company has previously launched channels with Samsung in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Spain and Italy.
