Caroline Tyre has left WildBrain to join Spin Master Entertainment as VP of global content distribution.
Based in Toronto and reporting to SME president Jennifer Dodge, Tyre will chiefly be responsible for distributing all of the company’s content internationally, as well as maximizing audience reach and driving more revenue for the division. She has a library of high-profile hits to play with, including PAW Patrol, Bakugan and Mighty Express, and she’ll also be working to build brand-new series Unicorn Academy into a global franchise.
Tyre replaces VP of sales and distribution Thom Chapman, who left in March after five and a half years with the company. His last batch of international deals for Spin Master moved VIda the Vet, Unicorn Academy and Bakugan further into Europe and Asia Pacific.
For the last 20-plus years, Tyre has worked in acquisitions and distribution roles for some of Canada’s biggest media companies. She’s coming off a four-year stint as VP of global sales and rights strategy for WildBrain. And earlier in her career, she worked at Corus-owned Teletoon (manager of acquisitions), eOne (acquisitions consultant), Breakthrough Entertainment (VP of sales and acquisitions) and AuxMode (VP of sales and acquisitions).
This move represents something of a homecoming for Tyre, who also previously worked with Spin Master as a consultant on global TV sales acquisitions from 2013 to 2016.
