  • AMC Networks has mined WildBrain’s catalogue to stock up JimJam (its pan-European linear kids channel) with more than 170 episodes of Caillou and seasons 10 and 11 of CG-animated series Fireman Sam. The company also bought season one of Tencent/Miaow’s House co-pro Pet Hotel (26 x 11 minutes) for its Minimax channel in Hungary, Romania, Moldova, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Balkan countries.
  • In other CEE sales news, Slovakian broadcaster RiK has picked up a WildBrain package including 80 episodes of Strawberry Shortcake: Berry in the Big City, seasons two and three of Caillou’s New Adventures (60 x five minutes), the first season of Bob the Builder (26 x 30 minutes) and Fireman Sam‘s eighth season (26 x 15 minutes).
  • Walmart has signed up to deliver software developer Sandbox Group’s flagship edutainment app PlayKids+ to Walmart+ members in the US. Running from July to September, the three-month free trial will give users full access to a catalogue of more than 1,000 games, cartoons and activities, including licensed content such as a Hello Kitty: Discovering the World game and full episodes of Earth to Luna! and Baby Shark. PlayKids+ has been downloaded more than five million times since launching in October.
  • LA-based toyco KessCo is gearing up to soft-launch a licensed One Piece board game called Luffy’s Bento Panic at tabletop game convention Gen Con this August, before rolling the product out to North American retailers later in the year. Players ages eight and up can duke it out as their favorite straw hat pirate, grabbing, stealing and eating as much food as possible to win. KessCo acquired board game licenses to One Piece and Digimon from Japan’s iconic anime studio Toei Animation in March.
