Higher Ground, the prodco run by former US President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama, has inked a second exclusive first-look deal with Netflix for all of its TV and film projects. 

The companies first partnered in 2018 in a multi-year collaboration that has yielded kids & family series Waffles + Mochi and Ada Twist, Scientist, both of which have performed well on the streamer. Waffles + Mochi (pictured, one season), Waffles + Mochi’s Restaurant (one season) and 28-film compilation Waffles + Mochi‘s Holiday Feast generated a combined 600,000 views from July to December 2023, according to Netflix’s most recent engagement report. And four seasons of animated preschool show Ada Twist, Scientist (developed by Chris Nee) pulled in 1.3 million views during the same period.

Higher Ground currently has several new projects in development and production, including a docuseries about this year’s Olympic basketball event that it’s producing with Words and Pictures (The Last Dance) and the International Olympic Committee.
