After 16 years with the company, VP of content acquisitions and co-productions Adina Pitt is preparing to depart from Warner Bros. Discovery’s US Kids and Family division at the end of this month.
In her role, Pitt has been responsible for identifying, negotiating and acquiring series, specials, movies and short-form content across all platforms. She is widely regarded as one of the kids content industry’s most influential and supportive content buyers, with a special gift for fostering relationships and nurturing independent producers as they establish themselves in the global market.
Pitt has weathered a lot of leadership and strategic changes at the Warner organization over the years, but she has maintained her generosity, grace and kindness through it all. Some of her many impressive achievements at the company include unifying the international teams to function within a more cohesive planning and operational framework; playing a key role in adapting to market dynamics and reintroducing a successful preschool content strategy; and fostering countless hours of quality kids programming as a committed and compassionate partner. The Total Drama Island franchise, LEGO Ninjago and Marc Brown’s HOP are just a few of the titles that Pitt has championed and helped to shape into groundbreaking hits.
According to Pitt’s boss, Adult Swim president Michael Ouweleen: “Adina is an unparalleled, world-class executive—a leader in the kids space not just within our company, but across the entire industry. If you know her, you know there’s no better partner, and proponent for quality kids entertainment. She will certainly shape the kids space for years to come.”
In the wake of her departure, Warner Bros. Discovery’s kids and family content will be overseen by the global team led by Vanessa Brookman.
