Mattel Television Studios is gearing up to deliver a new CG-animated Barbie series for girls ages five and up that will debut on Netflix this fall. 

Barbie Mysteries: The Great Horse Race Chase (eight x 25 minutes) follows along with Barbie “Brookyln” Roberts and Barbie “Malibu” Roberts as they head out for a vacation in the English countryside to visit Ken’s aunt Lady Carson. But their holiday is derailed when thieves steal Carson’s prized jumping horses and a diamond-encrusted saddle worth millions, and the Barbies must embark on a European quest for clues to find the missing steeds and save the day. 

Mattel plans to build anticipation for the new show this summer by launching three new Barbie SKUs—a Dance & Show Horse figurine and a pair of matching Malibu and Brooklyn riding dolls. 

Mattel executed a similar strategy last year for Barbie: A Touch of Magic. This previous CG-animated Netflix series also sent the Malibu and Brooklyn Barbies on a fantasy-themed adventure, and a full product line of dress-up dolls with electronic pegasus figures, plush and playsets coincided with the show’s launch.
