The digital talent management house is looking to bring kid-friendly creators focused on STEM, learning and education under its umbrella.
To meet a growing demand for educational content from the digital creator space, LA-based agency Underscore Talent has set up a STEM, learning and education division, tapping David Seelos to run it.
Seelos (pictured) and producer Ian Dokie previously co-founded End Card Digital, an influencer marketing agency representing digital creators that build, educate and entertain. End Card will phase out as Seelos moves his talent roster over to Underscore.
In his new gig, Seelos will scout YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram and gaming and podcasting spaces for digital creators who need support in building their brands. He reports directly to Underscore co-founders and co-CEOs Reza Izad and Dan Weinstein.
The agency’s existing stable of kid-friendly creators includes Vlad and Niki (118 million Youtube subscribers), Genevieve’s Playhouse (40.6 million), The Royalty Family (24.6 million) and Gracie’s Corner (3.6 million). And Seelos brings TheBackyardScientist (5.9 million), inventor William Osman (2.9 million) and Emily the Engineer (433,000) along with him.
Underscore opened a content services subsidiary called Shorthand Studios in April 2023 to help creators with content strategy planning, editing, distribution, localization and monetization. It’s currently working with Vlad and Niki, as well as Genevieve’s Playhouse.
In December 2022, Underscore was acquired by Cyprus-based mediaco TheSoul Publishing, which owns and operates the 5-Minute Crafts YouTube channel (80.6 million subscribers).
