- San Francisco-based techco Nex, which is making licensed motion-based video games for kids with Sesame Workshop and Hasbro, has hired a pair of former Walmart and Amazon Games execs to bulk up its leadership ranks. Tom Kang joins as president, having previously served as VP of immersive commerce at Walmart, as well as in senior positions at Amazon Games and Disney Interactive. And newly minted publishing VP Stephan Saiz also worked at Walmart (head of publishing) and Amazon Games (head of growth and partnerships).
- Guru Studio has promoted marketing VP Daniel Rattner (pictured middle) to VP of brand strategy and growth, as well as upping Jennifer Oppenheimer (pictured right) from manager to senior manager of international sales and licensing. Rattner will explore new marketing, content and monetization opportunities for the studio behind True and the Rainbow Kingdom, while Oppenheimer works to distribute its original and third-party IPs. Former Netflix and 9 Story Media Group exec Jasmine Gard (pictured left) has also joined the company as VP of finance.
