Anton Capital Entertainment, the UK indie producer behind Paddington 2, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon and HBO fantasy series His Dark Materials, has just locked down US$108 million in investment funding to finance the production of new films and TV series.

New York-based BlackRock—which managed a whopping US$10 trillion in assets in 2023—led the investment push and sees a lot of potential in the TV and film sector that Anton is operating in. Flush with cash, the studio’s feature film development team plans to produce 10 films a year, working across all genres.

New projects on Anton’s slate include a CG-animated family feature called Night of the Zoopocalypse and kid-friendly stop-motion film Memoir of a Snail, about a lonely young girl who finds joy again when she meets an eccentric old lady. Anton is producing both projects with Paris-based Charades.
