Disney has partnered with Sony Music Entertainment division Terrapin Station Entertainment to produce a new Disney Junior live stage show that will be sponsored by Walmart when it kicks off its US tour this fall.
Disney Jr. Live On Tour: Let’s Play features iconic characters from Disney Jr. series, including Mickey, Minnie, Ariel and Team Spidey, who must figure out what’s causing the strange weather disturbances that interrupt their playdate. The 90-minute show’s first performance will be staged in Southern California on September 17.
One new series that really stands to benefit from being part of this latest stage production is Disney Junior’s Ariel (pictured), which is launching on the channel in June and stars the curious mermaid as an eight-year-old. This younger version of Ariel will get her own musical segment in the live show.
New to the tour this year, Walmart is a natural sponsor for Let’s Play since its US stores carry a wide range of licensed products featuring Disney Junior IPs, including toys, apparel and costumes.
Disney Jr. Live On Tour has staged four shows since launching in 2018, and they’ve collectively sold 750,000 tickets to date. Past sponsors include Just Play and Kimberly Clark.
