  • Chinese streamer Youku Kids has acquired the first eight seasons of Super BOOMi (pictured) to launch later this month. Produced by Up Studios and distributed by Tencent Video, this CG-animated preschool series focuses on technology and creativity, and has sold well both domestically (CCTV and Hunan TV) and abroad (Canada’s Treehouse TV, Canal+ in France and Singapore’s Mediacorp).
  • Just ahead of the Cannes Film Festival, Spain’s Viva Pictures has added animated feature film Scarygirl to its distribution catalogue. Based on a well-known graphic novel, this co-production between Australian studios Highly Spirited and Like A Photon Creative is executive produced by Kung Fu Panda director John Stevenson. It’s set for a wide theatrical release on October 11.
