Australia’s Moose Toys has inked a new partnership with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) to develop a co-branded line of Heroes of Goo Jit Zu action figures for kids ages four and up.
Four initial products will roll out to retailers worldwide in August, based on some of the company’s biggest wrestling superstars: John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Roman Reigns and new WWE champion Cody Rhodes (pictured).
Moose launched its patented brand of goo-filled toys that can be squished, twisted and stretched into new shapes and sizes in 2019. In addition to nine waves of original characters, the toyco has also rolled out licensed Goo Jit Zu lines featuring Sonic the Hedgehog, Marvel, Jurassic World, Lightyear and DC Super Heroes.
WWE is coming off a red-hot year, with parentco TKO Group reporting that its wrestling business generated more than US$1.32 billion in revenue last year, a new record for the company. And this doesn’t even include the US$5-billion deal TKO signed with Netflix in January that will see the streamer broadcast new episodes of WWE Raw for the next 10 years starting in 2025.
