British prodco Blink Industries has recruited Courtney Arumugam as its new executive producer of animation and development.

Based in London, Arumugam started last week and announced the news in a LinkedIn post. She’s coming off a two-year EP stint at LEGO Group, where she oversaw the creative development of short- and long-form content.

Blink specializes in multimedia content for kids and adult audiences, including Netflix tween toon Dead End: Paranormal Park (20 x 24 minutes), CBeebies puppet-based miniseries Teddles (five x two minutes) and a 2023 Peter & The Wolf short film for Max. The studio is currently working on The Sunnyridge 3 for Disney EMEA—unveiled at Annecy last year, this spooky comedy is about three besties investigating a strange shopping mall in suburban London.

Arumugam spent three years at Gaumont earlier in her career, serving as the French company’s first UK-based VP of creative development for animation and family. Her resumé also includes a four-year run as a senior creative at Mattel, where she re-developed Bob the Builder (2015) and several Barbie titles; launching an in-house screen adaptation division for London’s Bright Agency; and commissioning and production roles at Channel 4, BBC and Fremantle Media.

“We’ve been a fan of [Courtney] for years now, and her tenacity and taste will be instrumental to our continued approach to development, production and creating shows that look and feel like nothing else out there,” says managing partner James Stevenson-Bretton, teasing that Blink will be rolling out some new project announcements over the coming weeks. Arumugam will oversee a slate that includes series, feature films and games.
