New York’s Trustbridge Entertainment has acquired the rights to adapt American author Marc J. Gregson’s YA-skewing fantasy book series Sky’s End into a feature film franchise.

Work on the project is already underway between Trustbridge and Antoine Fuqua’s Hill District Media studio (Bullet Train and Michael). Trustbridge president and former Boat Rocker Media EVP of kids and family Bob Higgins is attached as an executive producer, with Kat Samick (Infinite), Justin Bursch (Good Kids) and Sam Levine (Apple of My Eye) producing. The team is currently in the process of recruiting creative talent.

The dystopian story of Sky’s End takes place on several islands floating above toxic black clouds that monstrous creatures called gorgantauns call home. It centers around exiled orphan Conrad, who joins an airship crew to defeat the monsters, save his sister and get revenge against his violent uncle.

Peachtree Teen published the first book in Gregson’s planned trilogy in January. On top of becoming a New York Times bestseller, it has gone viral on Instagram, racking up six million views, a million likes and 50,000 shares. The publisher will release a second novel called Among Serpents early next year, followed by Downfall in 2026.
