Warner Bros. Animation is undergoing a leadership shift, with EVP and GM Ed Adams (pictured) gearing up to retire in September after 15 years with the studio. When he does, most of Adams’ responsibilities will be absorbed into Matt Matzkin’s role as EVP of business operations and production at Warner Bros. Unscripted Television.
A former DreamWorks Animation and Cookie Jar Entertainment exec, Adams joined the company in 2009 and is currently serving as EVP and GM for Warner Bros. Animation (WBA), Cartoon Network Studios (CNS) and Hanna-Barbera Studios Europe. He oversees day-to-day production and business operations for all three studios, working closely with and reporting to president Sam Register.
Matzkin, who was promoted from EVP of business affairs at Warner Bros. Unscripted Television last year, also oversees business affairs for Warner Horizon, Telepictures and Shed Media. When his role expands in the fall, he will report to both Register and president of Warner Bros. Television Brett Paul.
Bobbie Page, SVP of production at WBA and CNS, is also exiting after more than two decades at the company.
This latest shakeup comes in the wake of other leadership changes that have transpired as part of WBD’s ongoing post-merger reorganization, including Tom Aschiem leaving his role as president of kids, young adults and classics in 2022.
