CAKE serves up two seasons of YouTube Original The Guava Juice Show to ITVX, and Paramount+ renews CG-animated reboot DORA just a month after launching season one.

  • CAKE has signed a two-season deal with ITV for YouTube Original The Guava Juice Show (pictured). Produced in Canada by Mainframe Studios and Studio 71, this 2D-animated comedy series (26 x 11 minutes) stars its creator, 14-year-old Roi Fabito, and has generated upwards of nine billion views and more than 16.8 million channel subscribers on YouTube. ITVX plans to start streaming it in the UK this fall.
  • Paramount+ has renewed the new CG-animated preschool series DORA for a second season (TBD x 11 minutes), which will be produced by Nickelodeon Animation. Season one of the reboot just launched this month and is available on the streamer exclusively in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia, Latin America, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Austria. It’s also airing on linear channel Nick Jr. internationally.
  • Pokémon’s spinoff baby/toddler brand monpoké is coming out of Asia for the first time, featuring picture and board books from Scholastic, plus a skincare range and ready-to-wear apparel collections for newborns, babies and kids up to age 14 from French luxury label Bonpoint. To support this global expansion, The Pokémon Company International has released a series of Fun Times on monpoké Island YouTube videos featuring fan-favorite Pokémon characters as cute puppets.
  • Falling Forward Films has acquired domestic distribution rights to Ryan’s World the Movie: Titan Universe Adventure. The popular digital brand’s first feature film is now due to premiere on more than 2,100 screens in the US on August 16.
  • Mattel has granted pool float manufacturer Funboy a license to make and sell a range of five Hot Wheels inflatables for kids, including a surfboard, two tubes, a ride-on car with integrated water-squirter, and a backyard bowling set. This deal builds on last year’s partnership between the two companies for The Barbie Movie.
