Canada’s Youth Media Alliance (YMA) has put out a call for companies to participate in its second-annual Steven DeNure Children’s Content Internship.
Canadian production or broadcasting companies that have a student or recent graduate from a Canadian post-secondary school lined up to intern with them should submit an online application by May 10. Following a selection process, up to four students will each receive roughly US$6,500 to intern for 12 weeks. The YMA will put up half the funding, with the sponsoring companies covering the other half.
This is the internship initiative’s second year; BP Solarpunk Media (mentee Shanelle Simms) and Little Engine Moving Pictures (mentee Tania Goncalves) participated in 2023. Funding for the program comes from former WildBrain president Steven DeNure, Canadian children’s songwriter Marlowe Stone, 9 Story Media Group, CMPA, Sinking Ship Entertainment, WildBrain and Breakthrough Entertainment.
