Stop-motion house Stoopid Buddy Stoodios has hired former Disney and Skydance executive Jonathan Schneider to oversee its overall strategy and operations as president.
Schneider joins Stoopid Buddy from Invisible Universe, where he spent six months managing production and designing its pipeline as president of studios. And before that, he served as SVP of operations and business strategy at Skydance for three years, running teams responsible for pipeline, post and current series.
Earlier in his career, Schneider was a VP of strategy at Disney Television Animation (2015 to 2019) and a manager of animation development (2009 to 2010) at Nickelodeon.
With offices in Burbank and Toronto, Stoopid Buddy is best known for its Adult Swim stop-motion series Robot Chicken, but it has also produced several kids specials for Disney, including Mickey and Friends Trick or Treats and Mickey Saves Christmas. Other projects on the studio’s credit sheet include a promo for Paramount’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and a TV spot for LEGO’s licensed Scooby-Doo sets.
