As part of its plan for replacing company veteran Julian Moon, Warner Bros. Discovery’s global consumer products division has promoted Vikram Sharma to VP of consumer products for APAC.

Moon recently announced his intention to retire after 33 years with the company as head of consumer products for both EMEA and APAC. Splitting up this regional leadership, WBD tapped Philippe Roucoule as Moon’s successor for the EMEA region in February.

In his new VP role, Sharma will develop and execute a mix of strategic, financial and operational initiatives in the APAC market, with an initial focus on expanding the business of key franchises including DC, Harry Potter, Looney Tunes and Tom and Jerry. He started yesterday and reports to global consumer products head Robert Oberschelp and chief revenue and strategy officer Bruce Campbell.

Sharma joined WBD in 2020 to oversee its licensing and retail business across Southeast Asia, India, Taiwan, South Korea and Hong Kong as a GM. That same year, he was promoted to head of consumer products, advertising and partnerships for the same territories.

Before joining WBD, Sharma spent 11 years at Disney in various director roles, overseeing retail and licensing in Singapore and Malaysia (2016-2018), heading up consumer products retail for Southeast Asia (2012-2016), and leading sales and operations in India (2008-2012).
