Mattel and Arizona-based Epic Resort Destinations are building on their existing partnership and breaking ground later this year on a new theme park featuring the toyco’s brands.
The second Mattel Adventure Park is set to open its gates in 2026 as part of a new resort destination in Bonner Springs, Kansas. The park will join the city’s many other location-based entertainment attractions for families, including a Great Wolf Lodge water park, the Kansas Speedway and the Azura Amphitheater.
Epic Resort will leverage Mattel’s brands in a wide range of park attractions, including a pair of Hot Wheels-themed roller coasters, a He-Man vs. Skeletor Laser Tag arena and a Thomas & Friends: World of Sodor indoor play area for preschoolers.
Barbie will also appear as an interactive hologram inside the larger-than-life Barbie Beach House—which will offer retail experiences including a station where kids can build their own custom Barbie doll, a flying theater that takes attendees through a journey with the iconic character from Malibu to Brooklyn, and a rooftop restaurant.
Meanwhile, Mattel’s first Adventure Park is currently under construction and will open later this year in Glendale, Arizona. This unique nine-acre project has been designed so that its attractions can be moved into a fully air-conditioned space inside the attached VAI Resort when Arizona’s hot climate is too extreme for outdoor family fun.
