YouTube and Disney alum Lauren Glaubach (pictured) has joined the board of directors behind LA-based studio and IP owner pocket.watch.
In an advisory capacity, Glaubach will help pocket.watch shape corporate strategy and expand its global reach and roster of kids content creators. The company currently represents 51 digital-first creators who have collectively generated more than 681 billion YouTube views to date. Some of its marquee franchises include Ryan’s World; Love, Diana; and Onyx Monster Mysteries.
Glaubach is fresh off an 11-year run at YouTube, where she was most recently director and global head of youth partnerships and programming, playing a key role in building awareness for YouTube’s Made for Kids audience designation strategy and launching short-form video for families.
Kids and family programming is in a “transformational” moment, given the growing influx and influence of digital-first brands, she noted in a release. “And while many of these creators are breaking viewership records, they don’t necessarily have the support to navigate global distribution and diversified business opportunities.” That’s where pocket.watch can provide a lot of value.
Prior to YouTube, Glaubach worked at The Walt Disney Company for a total of five years in corporate strategic planning and franchise management roles.
